If I can’t see the environment state that caused the failure, I can’t account for whatever condition is broken and so I can’t fix anything. With randomness like that, it’s extremely hard to replicate, which means they can’t easily track it.Īs a developer myself, I know that not having the steps to replicate a bug makes working on it a non-starter. I’d go weeks without a crash, and then I would crash 6-7 times in a single night, and there was no pattern I could find to it. I could have FFXIV as the only thing open, idling in my FC house and staring at a wall and it would crash with the DX11 error every 30s, and I could have a dozen Chrome tabs, Discord, and Netflix all going while I went through Copied Factory and it would be completely stable. When it hit me, it didn’t seem to matter what I was doing or what was happening elsewhere on the system. The biggest problem with this issue is its random nature. I remember seeing somewhere that SE favors Nvidia, so that would leave AMD to try and figure out what’s going on. I do wonder if there isn’t some intermittent issue with AMD GPUs and/or CPUs. Now, with the latest drivers and BIOS, I’m generally stable. Tried a million different things, but it didn’t fully resolve until I upgraded my CPU to Ryzen 5 3600, and fully reinstalled Windows to make sure there were absolutely no traces of old drivers. I was having these issues on a Rypaired with an RX 5700 XT. Worth noting that the in-game FPS limiter is awful, it causes stutters, lower FPS and FPS drops, it became a lot worse when i changed from a 60Hz 1080p (wasn't that bad with this) monitor to a 120Hz Ultrawide 1440p monitor, RivaTuner is a lot better, or NVIDIA new FPS limit feature, obviously when doing this, the in-game FPS limiter should be disabled.exe files in the tiny crash window, that can help identify the problem.ĮDIT: These are my no crashes RivaTuner settings for FFXIV, i have no crashes with RivaTuner with these settings, there can always be something else causing problems, obviously. To finish, is there an error displayed when the crash happens? Do you have a screenshot of the error? It normally mentions. Discord and other overlays that can "interact" with the game and Display/Change stuff inside its window can cause crashes, another example is RivaTuner/MSi Afterburner and ReShade.Lastest 3+ NVIDIA drivers have a Shader cache bug, Hotfix 445.98 fixes that.Download and install DirectX Runtime (It contains libraries and configs for DX11, not just DX9, why does this matter? Because some games, install runtime libraries, the problem is that some of them use outdated installers).Create a new Windows account and try to play from there (This is not a common thing people suggest, however this helps a lot when there are conflicts or services, corrupted/conflicts with appdata files and even driver configurations, a new user account resets services and disables a lot of tasks and also reset driver configs, if it doesn't help, you can always go back to main account and delete this one).I might be able to help you solve the problem, i had few friends with the same issue (I had this a couple times every X months and was always able to fix it) and they stopped complaining about the problem the following days, i'll start by giving some tips.
